By default there are two ways to get data on and off YES Linux.

1- ssh : http://www.yeslinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=354 , http://www.yeslinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=331

2 - webdav : http://www.yeslinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=402 , http://www.yeslinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=377 , http://www.yeslinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=361

yes you can use ftp you just need to enable and start the server.  unfortunately the ftp server is not currently fully integrated with YES Linux.  What i mean by that is that the user management system is not seen by the default install of the ftp server.  it can be enabled but that is a manual configuration.  which version of YES are you running?
